About The Position

The Commercial Electrical Estimator at Pro Electric L.C. is responsible for providing accurate and efficient cost estimates for commercial and industrial electrical projects. This role involves analyzing project specifications, collaborating with clients and design professionals, and preparing detailed proposals and bids. The estimator will work closely with the Estimating and Pre-Construction departments to ensure competitive and profitable project budgets while maintaining quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering preferred.
• Minimum of three years' experience as an estimator preparing detailed electrical estimates, including medium voltage projects.
• Demonstrated knowledge of general electrical design and engineering concepts.
• Strong research and comprehension skills relating to the National Electrical Code.
• Experience with Trimble's Accubid Anywhere or Accubid Classic estimating software.
• Knowledge and proficiency with Code requirements and basic electrical engineering calculations.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Bluebeam / On Screen Takeoff software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Office, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Windows.
• Analytical and problem-solving mentality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and RFPs to prepare project proposals and bids.
• Attend job walks, pre-bid meetings, and collaborate with clients and design professionals.
• Prepare detailed estimating take-offs for projects.
• Evaluate bids from subcontractors and quotes from vendors to ensure competitive submissions.
• Develop achievable and profitable project budgets based on estimated costs and timelines.
• Anticipate cost increases and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
• Determine and price value-engineered alternatives to plans and specifications.
• Draft scope letters, proposals, and vendor solicitations.
• Support the Chief Estimator in the Estimating Department's functions and the development of junior personnel.
• Work under deadline pressures efficiently and calmly.
