About The Position

TSC is seeking an Experienced Electrical Engineer based in Bloomington, IN. The Experienced Electrical Engineer will provide advanced engineering support to ongoing efforts at Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane. This role focuses on the teardown, analysis, documentation, and test procedure development for SLQ‑32(V)6, SLQ‑32(V)7, and CV6 electronic warfare systems. The engineer will apply expert‑level hardware engineering skills to dissect complex naval systems, identify and document component-level details, and develop repeatable processes to support sustainment, modernization, and lifecycle management activities. Prior experience with SLQ‑32 variants, CV6 systems, or similar Navy electronic warfare or shipboard hardware is strongly preferred. A background in U.S. Navy operations, maintenance, or system integration is highly desirable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of engineering experience (or equivalent combination of education/experience).
  • Strong hands-on, hardware-first engineering mindset.
  • Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Analytical problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in engineering documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience dismantling, inspecting, and analyzing hardware assemblies.
  • Experience writing detailed engineering test procedures.
  • Strong understanding of electronic components, RF/electronic warfare hardware, and system integration.
  • Hands-on hardware engineering background with complex electronic systems (preferably Navy EW or shipboard systems).
  • Proficiency developing BOMs, wiring diagrams, and component-level documentation.
  • Ability to read/interpret technical drawings, schematics, and military specifications.
  • Prior experience with SLQ‑32 variants, CV6 systems, or similar Navy electronic warfare or shipboard hardware is strongly preferred.
  • A background in U.S. Navy operations, maintenance, or system integration is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • System Intake & Breakdown Lead the physical teardown and detailed examination of SLQ‑32(V)6, SLQ‑32(V)7, and CV6 systems.
  • Identify, remove, and categorize internal hardware components and subassemblies.
  • Analyze system architecture, interconnects, signal paths, and functional hardware blocks.
  • Parts List Development & Documentation Develop comprehensive Bill of Materials (BOM) and parts lists for each system.
  • Document hardware configurations, component specifications, cabling, connectors, and assemblies.
  • Produce engineering documentation that aligns with NSWC Crane standards and Navy technical requirements.
  • Test Procedure Development Design and write detailed hardware test procedures for system evaluation, functional testing, and component verification.
  • Collaborate with test engineers and technicians to validate procedures.
  • Support creation of acceptance test plans, diagnostic processes, and troubleshooting workflows.
  • Technical Support & Analysis Provide hardware-focused engineering recommendations for repair, modification, or lifecycle support.
  • Support failure analysis activities and assist in root-cause investigations.
  • Participate in technical meetings, design reviews, and program discussions with government stakeholders.
