About The Position

McClure Engineering is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their innovative team. The role involves working on a variety of projects related to complex building and campus systems, focusing on electrical power service, distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, and more. Requirements

  • B.S.E.E. from an accredited university or equivalent experience required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
  • 7+ years of relevant electrical engineering design experience, particularly in building power, lighting, and systems projects for commercial, institutional, and healthcare facilities.
  • Experience in selecting equipment and troubleshooting systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical construction trade, NFPA, and NEC.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, OneNote, Outlook, and Word.
  • Experience with Bluebeam and industry-specific software such as SKM, Aspen, and/or EasyPower.
  • Ability to read and understand both 2D and 3D drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Perform necessary engineering functions for projects including electrical power service and distribution, branch circuits, indoor and outdoor lighting, fire alarm systems, and audio/visual systems.
  • Advise clients on electrical systems and requirements to meet their needs and comply with applicable codes.
  • Lead electrical project design, directing tasks to Drafter/Designers and Apprentice Level Engineers under the guidance of the Principal Engineer.
  • Conduct field inspections to verify existing site conditions and develop project requirements.
  • Coordinate effectively with internal and external design team members.
  • Solve complex problems with minimal oversight during design and construction phases.
  • Guide the construction team to ensure full design implementation.
  • Manage project activities related to the electrical discipline, including budget reviews, project scheduling, and establishing communication standards.
