Summary: These operators are setting up and operating the CNC machines proficiently and editing a CNC program for proper function.

Requirements

  • Advanced blueprint reading, mathematical and technical skills.
  • Ability to use standard tooling such as, micrometers, calipers, height gages, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of boring bars, drills and other required tooling used to run a CNC machine.
  • Frequent lifting / carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Lifting devices are available and recommended.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year experience beneficial.
  • Ability to read blueprints, understanding tolerances.
  • Basic knowledge of different material types is beneficial.
  • HS diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret advance engineering drawings, understanding design requirement including datums, critical dimensions and tolerances.
  • Sets up CNC machining and / or turning centers to achieve required specifications.
  • Effectively program, setup, & operate multiple CNC machines producing high quality parts.
  • Monitor parts to ensure adherence to drawings and within tolerances.
  • Shape, sharpen, set cutter & adjust tools to achieve desired print tolerance.
  • Knowledge & ability to setup bore gauges & other measuring equipment.
  • Complete all required paperwork, including labor reporting & documentation of quality control & material movement.
  • Continually on the move, prepping / moving heavy parts.
  • Being a reliable and punctual team member.
