The Marine Detailer cleans, buffs, and polishes boat interiors in preparation of delivery to customers. A Detailer may perform some paint and varnish tasks as needed. A Detailer performs quality check on condition of boat prior to customer delivery.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years Boat or Car Detailing experience preferred.
  • High School diploma or General Equivalency (GED) required.
  • Marine or automotive industry experience preferred.
  • Lift and carry over 5 lbs. and up to 25 lbs. on a frequent basis (over 40% and up to 70%).
  • Frequently lifting or moving light weight material.
  • Requires continuous mental or visual attention.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, kneel, lift, push and pull and work in small, tight, and cramped spaces.
  • Requires working under disagreeable conditions on a frequent basis where elements such as dust, dirt, heat, fumes, cold, vibration, noise, water, or chemicals may be present.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 3 years Boat or Car Detailing experience preferred.
  • Marine or automotive industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning: Cleans and details boats, vacuum interior to remove loose dirt and debris, using vacuum cleaner, pump bilge. Using cleaning agents, applicators, and cleaning devices treats areas to remove dust, dirt, grease, and grime. Understanding of various cleaning agents for use on specific boat parts.
  • Other: Perform fall inventory and clean boats prior to winter storage. Installs and dismantles Bimini, dodger, cushions, curtains. Set up boat for summer delivery and packs for winter storage. Reports problems to other departments for repair.
  • Customer Service: May have heavy contact with customers, requiring diplomacy and pleasant attitude.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary.
