Requirements

Minimum 1 year of professional caregiving experience
Valid California Home Care Aide (HCA) Registration
Current CPR certification
TB test within the last 2 years showing negative results
Valid Drivers License and experience lifting wheelchairs and walkers into car
Must be comfortable driving clients to doctors appointments, and more as needed
Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills
Must be dependable, compassionate, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
Must take feedback well
Reliable transportation and flexible availability (able to take on urgent shifts, occasional weekend shifts, etc.)

Responsibilities

Help with personal care: bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting (if you have the skills)
Assist clients with walking, bathing, and dressing by standing nearby for support
Help move clients safely using gait belts and other tools (if you have the skills)
Care for clients who stay in bed, including repositioning, hygiene, incontinence, and skin care (if you have the skills)
Help prepare meals, cook, and understand diet needs
Follow care plans and keep track of any health changes
Provide companionship and emotional support
Communicate well with clients, their families, and healthcare teams
Care for clients in hospice settings (experience is helpful)
Do light housekeeping tasks
