Kunes Auto Group of Lake Bluff, IL is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Auto Detailer with advanced paint correction expertise to join our growing team. Position Overview As an Experienced Auto Detailer, you will be responsible for restoring, protecting, and maintaining the appearance of vehicles across our inventory. This role requires strong technical ability in paint correction, polishing, and finishing, along with a commitment to delivering exceptional results.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional auto detailing experience required in a dealership, body shop or service center
- Proven experience with paint correction and machine polishing
- Knowledge of detailing tools, chemicals, and best practices
- Ability to identify paint imperfections and recommend proper correction methods
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship mindset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Responsibilities
- Perform full interior and exterior detailing on a variety of vehicles
- Execute multi-stage paint correction (cutting, polishing, finishing)
- Remove swirl marks, scratches, oxidation, and other paint defects
- Apply waxes, sealants, and ceramic coatings
- Clean and restore upholstery, carpets, and interior surfaces
- Inspect vehicles for quality and ensure dealership standards are met
- Maintain detailing equipment and workspace in a clean, organized manner
- Work efficiently to meet production timelines without sacrificing quality
