About The Position

Evercore seeks to hire an Experienced Associate for its Energy Advisory Group in Houston with experience in the upstream and/or midstream sector. Evercore provides Associates with the ability to work closely with senior bankers on industry-transforming, multi-billion dollar transactions around the world. The small transaction team structure creates a strong platform for Associates to assume high levels of responsibility and client exposure at early stages of their careers. Responsibilities for an Associate include management and execution of live transactions, assistance with new business development, and client relationships, with a particular focus on working closely with analysts and associates, overseeing financial and valuation analysis, resolving complex financial and accounting issues, performing industry and competitive analysis, and preparing client presentation materials. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 4 years of work experience in investment banking and/or a relevant field, or MBA degree with at least 2 years of investment banking experience
  • Experience with buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions
  • Strong financial modeling skills and an excellent grasp of corporate finance and financial valuations including DCF, merger modeling, comparable companies, and precedents
  • Experience with due diligence and transaction execution processes
  • Experience preparing and maintaining industry/company presentations, benchmarking materials, and other process documents
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in teams
  • Strong communication skills, written and oral, with the ability to effectively articulate ideas
  • Strong work ethic
