Atelier 4 Inc, a leader in fine art logistics for over 35 years, is seeking an Experienced Crate Builder for our New York office located in Long Island City. This full-time position is integral to our operations, focusing on the custom crating of fine art. The ideal candidate will be safety-minded and possess a positive attitude, contributing to a team that prides itself on delivering the highest quality of service in the industry. As a Crate Builder, you will work in our woodshop, where you will be responsible for measuring, cutting, and assembling wood crates and packing cases tailored to the specific needs of our clients. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain insight into the art world, collaborating with artists, galleries, museums, and collectors on various exciting projects. In this position, you will follow written plans and building instructions to ensure quality construction and assembly. You will also be trained in the placement of artwork and will be responsible for cutting and shaping interior foams and packing trays. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment is crucial, and you will be expected to comply with general safety and OSHA regulations. The role requires regular and predictable attendance, and you will need to be able to lift at least 50 pounds as part of your daily activities.
