About The Position

We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented professional to join the team as an Expense Analyst at Schonfeld. You will be working with an experienced Finance team to implement best in class Accounting policies and procedures. You will have a keen attention to detail, a data integrity mindset and be someone who thrives off learning new skills and challenging yourself. You will be a natural team player who can use their strong interpersonal skills to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication. The individual will work closely with other back-office team members to support day-to-day accounts payable and travel-and-expense activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (Accounting or Finance preferred)
  • 2–3 years of accounting experience, including hands-on work with a travel-and-expense platform
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
  • Strong organizational skills, analytical mindset, and meticulous attention to detail
  • Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to interact across all levels of the firm
  • Demonstrated ownership of tasks and the drive to deliver high-quality work both independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics (or similar ERP)
  • Prior use of Navan
  • Experience in hedge-fund or broader financial-services environments

Responsibilities

  • Navan (T&E) administration – onboard new employees, monitor workflows, perform monthly audits, and track available company funds
  • Travel & vendor liaison – serve as the primary point of contact with Navan’s account manager; manage relationships and corporate rates with preferred hotels and airlines
  • Expense analysis & allocation – tag expenditures to investment professionals, reconcile across departments, and ensure GL accuracy
  • Invoice processing – use OCR technology to create and code purchase invoices; determine payment timing and enter approvals in the accounting system
  • Credit-card & out-of-pocket reimbursement oversight – analyze, record, and reconcile all corporate card and employee reimbursement activity
  • Fixed-asset tracking – partner with IT to maintain the fixed-asset register and support asset-related accounting entries
  • Vendor support – handle vendor queries, ensure appropriate documentation, and maintain strong working relationships
  • Process improvement & controls – streamline procedures to support scale while maintaining a robust internal-control environment
  • Month-end close – ensure all expenses are booked and accrued accurately to meet financial-reporting deadlines
