About The Position

Atlanta Attachment Company is a global distributor and manufacturer of capital equipment supporting the bedding, apparel, and furniture industries. Expeditors are responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient flow of materials, parts, and products through the facility to meet shipping schedules, production needs, and inventory targets. This role requires strong organizational skills, an eye for detail, and the physical capability to manage materials of various sizes. Expeditors collaborate closely with production, inventory, and logistics teams to maintain seamless operational flow.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ years' experience in a warehouse, shipping/receiving, or material handling role required.
  • 3+ years in shipping/receiving, material flow coordination, or machine-specific packaging experience highly desired.
  • Strong attention to detail and familiarity with basic inventory or ERP systems preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret shipping labels, inventory sheets, and safety documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Transport raw materials, parts, or finished products using forklift, pallet jack, or hand tools.
  • Assist with build pallets, crates, or other shipping containers to match the size and weight requirements of specific product.
  • Load and unload trucks or trailers according to shipment documentation and safety protocols.
  • Coordinate movement of materials between departments and staging areas based on production and shipping schedules.
  • Receive inbound deliveries, verify contents against packing slips or purchase orders, and accurately document incoming items.
  • Prepare outbound shipments, including packaging, labeling, and documentation.
  • Ensure shipping accuracy by checking orders for proper part numbers, quantities, and destinations.
  • Maintain and submit shipping and receiving logs, issue tracking reports, and resolve any discrepancies in coordination with inventory or procurement teams.
  • Organize and maintain stockroom areas and shipping supply inventories.
  • Assist in cycle counts or physical inventory activities.
  • Use inventory systems or scanners to record material movement and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure incoming and outgoing inventory is placed or removed according to proper location and FIFO (First-In, First-Out) practices.
  • Inspect packaging and crating for structural integrity, proper labeling, and compliance with shipping standards.
  • Ensure all documentation matches shipment contents and routing instructions.
  • Identify and report damaged or incorrect materials immediately for resolution.
  • Maintain clean and organized workspaces in stockrooms, shipping bays, and staging areas.
  • Comply with all safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment according to training and safety protocols.
  • Perform basic maintenance checks on equipment and report malfunctions.
  • Pick-up or deliver parts or finished goods to local customers using company vehicles.
  • Plan shipment pickups, coordinate driver assignments, and confirm delivery schedules with external carriers.
