About The Position

The Expeditor (Expo)/Packer at Neighborly is a critical leadership position on the floor, responsible for protecting food quality, order accuracy, and the flow of service between the Kitchen and Front of House teams. Acting as the final checkpoints before food reaches the guest, the Expo/Packer ensures that every order meets Neighborly’s standards for accuracy, presentation, temperature, and safety. The Expo/Packer understands that order accuracy is also a form of hospitality. This role requires someone who is calm under pressure, highly detail oriented, and an excellent communicator, with a strong sense of urgency and pride in getting things right.

Responsibilities

  • Packs and prepares takeout and delivery orders. Review orders for accuracy using set procedures.
  • Knowledgeable with all menu items, products, sides, sauces, toppings and garnishes.
  • Assists in other FOH tasks such as running food to guests, handing out delivery/carry-out orders, and cleaning the restaurant.
  • Read and manage tickets with precision, ensuring every food item matches the order exactly.
  • Serve as the primary communication bridge between the Kitchen and FOH teams, clearly calling out orders, modifications, allergies, and special requests.
  • Actively monitor order flow and timing, anticipating bottlenecks and adjusting priorities to keep service moving smoothly.
  • Perform final quality checks on every completed order with Kitchen Manager, confirming accuracy, presentation, and temperature before release for dine-in, carry-out, or delivery.
  • Immediately address any discrepancies in food quality, missing items, or incorrect modifications with the Kitchen Team and ensure corrections are made before the order leaves the line.
  • Assist with final food preparation as needed, including garnishing, plating, labeling, and organizing orders for packers and runners.
  • Lead the pass with confidence and organization, keeping the expo station clean, stocked, and ready for service at all times.
  • Maintain strict cleanliness and sanitation standards, participating in opening and closing duties as assigned.
