The Food Runner / Expeditor supports the service team by ensuring prompt, accurate, and courteous delivery of food and beverages, maintaining clean and organized service areas, and coordinating between the kitchen and dining staff. This role is essential in creating a seamless dining experience for members and guests, while also supporting banquet and event functions as needed.

Requirements

  • Less than High School Education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Food Handlers Certificate.
  • Must be Nineteen Years of Age (To serve alcohol).
  • Present a positive, professional image.
  • Must be self-motivated and customer service oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal as well as written and oral communication skills.
  • Reliable and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.

Responsibilities

  • Assists servers and server assistants in providing efficient, attentive service to members and guests.
  • Ensures all service stations are stocked, clean, and ready for service throughout the shift.
  • Delivers food and beverages to tables promptly and accurately, following service standards and seat positions.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of dining and service areas, including clearing and resetting tables.
  • Supports banquet and special event operations, including setup, breakdown, and execution according to Banquet Event Orders.
  • Ensures banquet and meeting areas are clean, orderly, and properly stocked with necessary equipment and materials.
  • Monitors and reports guest concerns, equipment issues, or service needs promptly to the supervisor or manager.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned to ensure high-quality service and smooth food and beverage operations.
  • Prepare meeting rooms and function areas in advance, ensuring setups match Banquet Event Order specifications.
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown, including tables, chairs, linens, China, glassware, and other required materials (lifting up to 50 lbs).
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of banquet spaces, public areas, storerooms, and equipment.
  • Support event needs by setting lighting, props, decorations, coffee breaks, and related details according to standards.
  • Monitor equipment and supplies, reporting any issues to supervisors promptly.
  • Ensure all event requirements are completed on schedule and assist with preparing for upcoming functions.
