About The Position

The Expansion Project Administrator for Broward County's Water and Wastewater Services, Engineering Division is responsible for managing water and wastewater expansion projects initiated by land developers from inception through close-out. This role involves supervising professional and technical personnel, reviewing and approving design plans, coordinating with engineering inspection staff, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. The position also includes performing technical analyses and preparing reports for senior management, as well as coordinating activities for the issuance of Utility Connection Permits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a closely related field.
  • Four years of experience overseeing contracts in architecture, engineering, and/or construction management involving design/construction projects.
  • Valid Florida Class E Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or higher in Engineering, Construction Management, Public Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Florida Professional Engineer (PE) License.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or similar certifications.
  • Experience supervising engineering and/or technical staff.
  • Experience in water/wastewater project management and/or design.
  • Experience with permitting and permit management for water and wastewater projects.
  • Hydraulic modeling experience for water and wastewater systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage water and wastewater expansion projects from inception to close-out under a Broward County Utility Connection Permit.
  • Supervise professional and technical personnel responsible for administering and reviewing Developer Projects.
  • Review and approve design and record drawing plans for Developer Projects.
  • Coordinate with engineering inspection staff for quality assurance inspections of water and wastewater projects.
  • Mentor and advise subordinates to ensure professional growth and timely work completion.
  • Perform technical and hydraulic modeling analysis and prepare reports for senior management.
  • Coordinate with the Capital Project Management section as needed.
  • Issue Utility Connection Permits for Developer Projects and manage hydraulic modeling efforts.
