About The Position

Provide support for the implementation of a multi-district quality extended learning program for K-12 students via technical assistance to schools The Program Specialist collaborates with grant leadership and is a subject matter expert within the areas of Family Engagement, Community Engagement, Accelerated Learning, and Summer Learning Support the 21st CCLC grant Site Coordinators in the guidance, facilitation, delivery, and ongoing evaluation of adult education and family outreach for families enrolled in the Afterschool Centers on Education (ACE) Program Focus on increasing the positive effect of family engagement on students' attendance, behavior, and grades Develop partnerships with local community resources to support needs and offer targeted educational opportunities for families

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience with K-12 programs
  • Experience leading Family Outreach and Engagement
  • Experience with event planning and coordination
  • Ability to communicate effectively to multiple audiences
  • Knowledge of effective community engagement practices
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Excellent presentation skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience creating win-win partnerships with community-based organizations
  • Two to three (2-3) years of experience in school settings
  • Two to three (2-3) years Out-of-School Time (OST)/Summer program development and implementation
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a representative of ESC Region 13, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the educational community and with the public
  • Support centers in ensuring high-quality opportunities for academic achievement as well as personal character growth for all students and their families; especially within Accelerated Learning, and Summer Learning areas
  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate family engagement activities in cooperation with the 21st CCLC Program Director and Site Coordinators, while preparing youth for success, promoting safety, and program quality
  • Actively recruit parents of participating students who are recommended for the program by teachers, counselors, and administrators
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with parents, community leaders, and organizations
  • Assist with the administration of grant compliance, quality assurance process, technical assistance, and facilitation of professional development for Site Coordinators
  • Support site visits, program monitoring, and family engagement events
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • This position will also coach, mentor, and train employees as needed.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are followed by the team
  • Monitor program and/or grant guidelines/expenditures/requirements
