This position will serve in the after-school expanded learning program for El Portal Elementary School. The position is temporary and may be renewed annually (dependent on funding). El Portal is a small town in the Merced River Canyon fifteen miles west of Yosemite Valley and thirty miles east of Mariposa. This location provides amazing outdoor learning opportunities for the students of our Necessary Small School. Curriculum and instruction are driven by district-adopted academic standards. Instruction is often theme-based, with strong science, visual, and performing arts components. Physical education includes learning to swim, ski, hike in the mountains and play tennis. Parents and our Yosemite National Park partners contribute to the rich learning environment.
