The Exhibit Operations Installation Supervisor at the Museum of Science is responsible for overseeing the installation and de-installation of exhibits and special projects, both on-site and globally. This role involves managing a team of six or more staff members, ensuring safety and efficiency in operations, and maintaining communication with venues for touring exhibits. The supervisor will also assist in the repair of exhibits and develop policies for departmental operations.

  • Oversee and manage on-site staff of 6 or more for the installation and de-installation of exhibits and special projects.
  • Maintain museum-owned touring exhibits and serve as the main technical contact for venue communication.
  • Schedule travel arrangements for touring teams and coordinate internal staffing for exhibit installations.
  • Work with exhibit management to create policies and procedures for department operations and safety protocols.
  • Assist in the repair of permanent and temporary exhibits both on-site and off-site.
  • Act as an active supervisor within the EOS department when not on assignment.
  • Experience leading teams of 6 or more in installing exhibits or theatrical productions.
  • Knowledge of power and hand tools, with a valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to push heavy crates and lift a minimum of 70 lbs.
  • Experience with truck loading and unloading, and knowledge in Theatrical Rigging, lighting, Audio Visual, Multimedia, or mechanical repair.
  • Basic understanding of spreadsheets and CAD software, such as Vectorworks.
  • Willingness to work at moderate heights (10 to 30 feet) and travel internationally.
  • Forklift and aerial lift experience.
  • Experience in electrical work.
  • Competitive salary range of $71,325 - $82,000 per year.
