About The Position

As a member of the Exhibitions team under the supervision of the Curator of Exhibits or their designee, is responsible for the coordination, production, installation, de-installation, and maintenance of temporary and permanent exhibits and displays at the Kenosha Public Museum, Civil War Museum, and Dinosaur Discovery Museum. The Exhibit Builder and Project Coordinator will have basic knowledge of museums, experience in the planning, development, and installation of exhibitions, the ability to achieve and maintain museum standards in all areas, and willingness to strengthen and acquire skills as needed to ensure the consistent quality and accuracy of interpretation and presentation. This position includes but is not limited to the following tasks: creating, fabricating, installing, deinstalling, and moving temporary and traveling exhibition properties and components; preparing gallery spaces, cases, and exhibition materials including labels, images, and graphics; cleaning and maintaining permanent exhibits and making repairs as needed; coordinating and facilitating projects and team meetings, maintaining and adhering to calendars, minutes, communications, and updates; supporting interdepartmental teams and special projects as well as daily museum operations, long-range strategic plans and evaluation, and related work as required. Employee performance is reviewed through conferences and written reports for adherence to established goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and guidelines established by the Kenosha Public Museums.
