About The Position

The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) is seeking an on-call (<19 HPW) Exhibit Assistant. The Exhibit Assistant is part of a team that assists in the installation/deinstallation of OMSI's traveling and temporary exhibits, and provides support in museum daily operations as needed. Business Practices : Developed communication skills, with an emphasis on excellent customer service; Ability to model and support a positive team dynamic with paid and unpaid staff; Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks, often with overlapping and time-sensitive deadlines; Proficiency with Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office; Demonstrated ability to pivot between individual and team work; Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills; Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to adhere to confidentiality, protocol, and community agreements; Exercises sound judgment while upholding high integrity and ethical standards. Exhibit Assistant Practices: Ability to work safely and/or learn safety guidelines and practices in shop and exhibit environments; Ability to unload carts and crates from shipping containers; Ability to read, understand, and use levels, tape measures, squares, and other measuring devices; Ability to work with a team and take direction from both supervisor and external project leads. The Exhibit Assistant has an hourly rate of $20.25 per hour, and is eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: Wellness time per year with no waiting period.
