About The Position

The Exhibit Artist (EA) works as a team with other artists and designers to create and produce the best solutions for our design requirements. Working closely with the Key Exhibit Artists (KEA), Supervising Art Director (SAD), Project Designers/ Art Director (PDAD), Manager of Digital Sculpting (MOS) and senior management, the EA will produce artwork for use in permanent or temporary exhibit settings. This could include and not be limited to sculpting, mold making, casting, painting, concept design, interior and exterior design, concept illustration, outside vendor art direction, on site installation and art direction. They must possess the ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining pleasant, flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Expert level written and verbal communication skills, strong decision-making ability and attention to detail are equally important, and they must work independently with little or no supervision. Requirements

  • Must agree with and be able to sign our Statement of Faith.
  • Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Regularly attends a local Bible-believing church.
  • Ensure adherence to quality and performance goals for the projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to work well under pressure, determine priorities and product results
  • Able to take on complex tasks and see them to finish with little oversight
  • Sculpture in various mediums, including but not limited to epoxy putty, sculpey and clay.
  • Mold making/casting with various materials including, but not limited to silicone, urethane rubber, urethane resin and polyester/fiberglass resin.
  • Painting in various mediums.
  • Model and prop making with various materials and techniques.
  • Work creatively with others
  • Able to support/defend your ideas to others and be open to feedback provided
  • Work as a team member with the ministry's objective
  • Mission focused and motivated
  • Able to multitask
  • A degree in art is preferred, but a strong portfolio and substantial, relevant work experience is critical.
  • At least 1 year of experience in graphic, exhibit, theme park, and/or entertainment design.

Nice To Haves

  • Woodworking skills are a plus.
  • Experience in 3D modeling is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Research content for exhibits, including historical data to develop exceptional ways to convey message and concepts to guests.
  • Solve design challenges that provide solutions in line with the creative vision of the Project Designers/ Art Directors (PD/ AD) and fitting to a project schedule/resources.
  • Stay knowledgeable and trained in the latest artistic processes, techniques and technologies.
  • Assist with 3D digital art as needed.
  • Exhibit model making.
  • Work as part of a creative team and self-manage time versus output effectively.
  • Work with Fabrication and Design Teams on exhibit installation as needed.
  • Assist with exhibit maintenance as assigned.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
