About The Position

The Exercise Specialist works with the registered nurse to conduct the Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation Program. Treatment and education is provided in the areas of deficit to assist patients in safely regaining functional abilities and adopting a heart-healthy lifestyle. The Exercise Specialist also conducts/supervises Cardiac and Pulmonary Maintenance Exercise Program classes. Concord Hospital (CH) is a nationally-accredited, progressive regional health system. Requirements

  • Four years of formal training or education beyond the high school level (e.g., Bachelors Degree).
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification, or equivalent course credentialed by American Heart Association.
  • Must possess knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan.

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience as an Exercise Specialist preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Completes Cardiac Rehabilitation Program evaluations.
  • Documents patient data.
  • Demonstrates group exercise leadership skills.
  • Provides group and individual exercise education.
  • Clinically monitors patient.
  • Provides patients with a home exercise program (HEP).
