Cardiovascular Medicine is the largest outpatient care center for all cardiovascular disorders. We have 50+ physicians and 50+ advanced practice providers that see patients mainly in the 13-county service area. Our providers cover both outpatient and inpatient care inclusive of a variety of invasive and non-invasive procedures, cardiovascular testing and monitoring and multi-disciplinary care. May also analyze external cardiacs and assist in the implantable device management. Provides patient education related to heart healthy lifestyle choices. Plans, develops and conducts graded exercise testing. Monitors patient’s activity, physiological response, and adherence to the exercise sessions. Provides specific exercise prescription to individuals based on age, culture and orthopedic considerations. May also analyze external monitor findings utilizing appropriate technology and processes report according to protocol; and assist in management of patients with implantable devices, including but not limited to triage, entering and tracking data, reviewing remotes, performing in-clinic interrogations, and scheduling patients as needed. Provides patient education talking points and/or individual and group counseling and teaching regarding principles of a healthy lifestyle. May create and update educational materials. Assists with new employee orientation within department. Communicates and collaborates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services. Participates in research projects and on committees/task forces as member, consultant and/or chair. May flex to the medical program or surgical program as needed.

  • Bachelor's Degree Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Health Science or related field
  • skills, knowledge, abilities typically gained through less than 2 years of relevant experience in the following areas: conducting graded exercise testing, knowledge of cardiovascular physiology, risk factor identification/modification; basic electrocardiogram (EKG) knowledge or completion of an internship in Cardiac Rehab.

  • Master's Degree Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Health Science or related field
  • Ideal candidate will possess a Degree in Exercise Science or related degree
