Schedule Details: Staff will work Monday-Friday; typically, 8-4:30pm or 8:30-5pm. Staff will also be included on weekend and holiday rotations. This consists of working 1 weekend a month and 1-2 holidays a year. Weekend and Holiday shifts are scheduled 7-3:30pm. Shift locations worked will be primarily for Waukesha Memorial Hospital or the Heart & Vascular Center at ProHealth Care, with rotation to Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital, Mukwonago and Brookfield clinics when needed. The Exercise Specialist assists in the care of the cardiac patient in multiple modalities. Provides all patient care in the Cardiovascular department, where appropriate. Performs graded exercise evaluations, place/educate patients on cardiac monitors, perform ekgs, monitor/identify EKG rhythms, and provide lifestyle modification and education, where appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Fitness/Sports Studies Required.
  • Bachelor of Science in one of the following areas: Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Health Human Performance & Recreation, Exercise Physiology
  • Minimum License: BLS (CPR), ACLS
  • Exercise Specialist degree, must have ACSM and ACLS within 1 year of hire.
  • Previous internship in Cardiovascular Diagnostics/Cardiac Rehab Program
