About The Position

The Exercise Science Program Director and Human Performance Lab Director at Elizabethtown College are looking for a highly motivated and organized student who can provide administrative support to our Exercise Science faculty and staff to assist with various projects as needed. The ideal candidate must be highly motivated, organized, have excellent communication skills, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Must be a declared Exercise Science Major
  • Must be at least sophomore status, with at a minimum, current enrollment in ESC 240 and 280.
  • Must hold a current CPR/AED certification.
  • Must provide at least one recommendation from ESC faculty (full-time or adjunct), Athletic Training Staff, or related staff such as the Human Performance Lab Director, Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, Director of the Bowers Center, or Assistant Director of Health Promotion.

  • Has at least several months of experience in the field of study, which can include work as a volunteer, intern, or part-time employee.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with completion of administrative and academic tasks for the Exercise Science Program Director and/or other program-related faculty and staff as needed, including the Human Performance Lab (HPL) Director.
  • Assist the HPL Director with lab and field testing for college athletes, students and community members.
  • Troubleshoot testing hardware and software in support of HPL operations.
  • Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Attend program meetings and assist with program management tasks and projects.
  • Assist with organizing and coordinating events and activities, including participation in program events.
  • Assist with communication and collaboration between Exercise Science personnel and members of the Exercise Science Student Club.
  • Manage program bulletin boards and displays, and general communication of program information, both physical and online.
  • Assist program personnel with admissions events for prospective students.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of office/admirative procedures and practices.
