Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Bachelor's degree required.

Nice To Haves

  • Exercise Physiologist credentialed from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) preferred.
  • Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and supervise physical exercise programs for patients.
  • Provide patient testing and assessment before and after rehabilitation.
  • Plan and teach exercise therapy for patients utilizing test data, patient status and current medication regimen. Monitors patient's response and revises plan accordingly.
  • Recognize contraindications and abnonmal patient responses to exercise. Respond appropriately to all situations including exercise cessation and referral to medical professionals.
  • Provide exercise information for patients, peers and the community which may include public speaking and education classes.
  • Ensure department equipment is properly maintained, calibrated and functioning correctly.
  • Develop and maintain various files, records, reports; schedule patient appointments as required.
  • Provide oversight to department activities in the absence of the manager.
