About The Position

Exercise Physiologist Location: This field-based role enables associates to primarily operate in the field, traveling to client sites or designated locations as their role requires, with occasional office attendance for meetings or training. This approach ensures flexibility, responsiveness to client needs, and direct, hands-on engagement. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office. The Exercise Physiologist is responsible for providing exercise guidance to disease management members. How you will make an impact: Collaborates with nurse case managers in managing disease management health goals of members. Implements the primary care physicians exercise recommendations providing safe and effective exercise instruction and guidance. Provides member health coaching, education, assessment and support of behavioral changes to promote self-management of chronic conditions. Provides members with education materials related specifically to member score condition.

Requirements

  • Requires a BS/BA degree in exercise science, exercise physiology, kinesiology, physical therapy or physical education and a minimum of 3 years experience as an exercise specialist, exercise physiologist or fitness instructor/trainer developing exercise prescriptions for special populations; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 1 year cardiac rehab, pulmonary rehab, and physical therapy experience in clinical setting preferred.
  • Certification by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as a Health Fitness Instructor preferred.
  • MS in a related field and membership in American Society of Exercise Physiologist preferred.
  • Telephonic experience is strongly preferred.
