About The Position

Fairview Health Services is seeking an Exercise Physiologist to join the CV Imaging team at St Johns Hospital in Maplewood, MN, and Woodwinds in Woodbury, MN. The role involves assisting with cardiac stress testing, patient education on monitoring devices, and performing EKGs. This position is part-time, working 64 hours every two weeks, primarily on weekdays.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science
• Strong skills interpreting 12 lead EKG
• 0-2 years of experience in cardiac rehabilitation, stress testing, or Holter monitoring
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA)

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of cardiac testing experience
• American College of Sports Medicine Exercise Specialist Certification

Responsibilities

• Assist the proctor RN with all modalities of cardiac stress testing including GXT, stress echo, and nuclear studies.
• Educate patients on the use of Holter and event monitors.
• Perform 12 lead EKGs on inpatients and outpatients.
• Maintain knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
• Participate in crafting and implementing improvements in patient care.
• Provide direct patient care in accordance with established standards for Non-Invasive Heart Care.
• Assess and supervise patient progress, intervening as necessary to ensure desired outcomes.
• Respond to medical emergencies and collaborate with the healthcare team.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise.
• Orient and train new team members.
