About The Position

The Exercise Physiologist plays a crucial role in the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation team, focusing on developing safe and effective exercise prescriptions for patients. This position involves ensuring safe exercise therapy through proper patient orientation, supervision, and ongoing monitoring of clinical status, while adhering to established guidelines and policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in an Exercise Science area of study.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• One to two years of recent and relevant experience.
• Strong communication skills and concern for patient and physician satisfaction.
• Strong knowledge of exercise science for disease prevention and ability to compute MET levels.

• Knowledge of psychosocial, physiological, developmental, and spiritual needs of various age groups.
• Ability to utilize hospital applications and computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop safe and effective exercise prescriptions for patients.
• Ensure safe exercise therapy through proper patient orientation and supervision.
• Monitor patients' clinical status during exercise therapy.
• Participate in all aspects of the rehabilitation program.
• Maintain high standards of practice by following ACSM and AACVPR guidelines.
