About The Position

The Exercise Physiologist will work in the Cardiac Rehab Department at Texas Health Rockwall, providing care in a collaborative team environment. The position requires a commitment to delivering safe and reliable care, with a focus on patient assessment, exercise program development, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. The role is full-time, requiring 36 hours of work per week, Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Physiology, or related field.
• 3 months experience in cardiac rehab is preferred.
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days.
• CCES - Certified Clinical Exercise Specialist upon hire is preferred.
• RCEP - Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist upon hire is preferred.
• Knowledge of clinical area including equipment used, infection control, and patient care delivery.

Responsibilities

• Assist RN with patient assessment on admission to the program.
• Assist with the development of comprehensive individualized exercise programs.
• Develop exercise prescriptions/programs tailored to the unique needs and interests of clients.
• Provide instruction for safe and effective performance of exercise activities.
• Promote secondary prevention to individuals limited by cardiac disease.
• Complete shift assignments for equipment maintenance.
• Document all required data for Cardiac Rehab members according to department guidelines.
