About The Position

The position is responsible for conducting exercise stress tests based on physician orders, clinical assessment, and standard protocols. The role includes conducting Cardiac Rehabilitation classes and providing education to patients. The individual must recognize emergency situations and initiate emergency procedures as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science or related field, or completion of a cardiovascular program with a non-invasive specialty.
  • Experience in stress testing and cardiac rehab preferred.
  • Proof of CEP certification through ACSM prior to the end of the first year of employment.
  • Requires vision and hearing corrected to normal ranges.
  • Verbal and numerical abilities, and manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct exercise stress tests following physician orders and clinical assessments.
  • Conduct Cardiac Rehabilitation classes and provide education to patients.
  • Recognize emergency situations and initiate emergency procedures.
  • Maintain good rapport and cooperative relationships with colleagues and patients.
  • Help identify problems, offer solutions, and participate in their resolution.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient, physician, and employee information.
  • Assume responsibility for job duties in the safest possible manner.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of various types of stress tests and methods of testing.
  • Follow protocols for patient assessment, preparation, ECG recordings, and monitoring.
  • Notify medical staff of abnormal pre-test conditions and test results.
  • Document pertinent information and apply preliminary test results for physician interpretation.
  • Assist with training and orientation of new employees and interns.
  • Demonstrate flexibility related to work schedule and patient types.
  • Complete documentation in EPIC.
  • Conduct new patient orientations and develop Individualized Treatment Plans (ITP).
  • Monitor and motivate patients during rehabilitative exercises.
  • Track and bill patient sessions as they progress through the program.
  • Deliver organized weekly educational lectures to cardiac rehabilitation classes.
  • Maintain active BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Respond appropriately in emergency situations.
