About The Position

Serve as an Exercise Physiologist within a cardiac rehabilitation program, supporting patient recovery and wellness Report directly to the Director of Intensive Cardiac Rehab and collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team Deliver individualized exercise prescriptions based on American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR), and American Council on Exercise (ACE) guidelines Work directly with cardiac rehab patients and fitness center members to improve health outcomes and quality of life Maintain a safe, organized, and patient-focused care environment aligned with organizational standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Certification aligned with American College of Sports Medicine (e.g., Clinical Exercise Physiologist) or equivalent
  • Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
  • Strong knowledge of ACSM, AACVPR, and ACE guidelines for exercise prescription
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Ability to assess, plan, and modify treatment programs using sound clinical judgment
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and accurate medical documentation
  • Physical capability to assist patients, operate equipment, and remain active throughout the workday
  • Strong organizational skills, professionalism, and commitment to patient-centered care

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s preferred
  • Experience in cardiac rehab, telemetry, or related clinical setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient assessments, including health history review, interviews, and submaximal fitness testing
  • Develop and implement individualized exercise prescriptions and treatment plans
  • Monitor patient progress, evaluate responses to exercise, and adjust care plans as needed
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, exercise procedures, and home exercise programs
  • Accurately document patient information and progress in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, infection control, and HIPAA regulations
  • Operate and interpret clinical equipment (e.g., blood pressure cuffs, pulse oximeters, glucometers)
  • Support patient adherence through encouragement, follow-ups, and ongoing communication
  • Maintain readiness of supplies and equipment to deliver efficient, patient-centered care
