About The Position

Provides group exercise instructor-led programming.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in exercise science or health related field preferred.
• 6 months of related experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access as might be used in the preparation of correspondence and reports.
• Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to carry out non-routine procedures under constantly changing conditions, in conformance with general instructions from supervisor.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

• Leads group exercise classes for members and guests.
• Plan and choreograph land based and/or aquatic classes.
• Instruct and demonstrate a variety of exercises and use of appropriate equipment.
• Report to area prior to class for preparation, remain after class to store equipment and/or answer member questions.
• Maintains a safe exercise environment.
• Conducts class in a safe and prudent manner.
• Report any unsafe physical or technical conditions immediately to supervisor.
• Remove any potential risk.
• Become acquainted with members and note any physical or mental changes.
• Help maintain a clean environment.
• Performs regular record keeping duties.
• Accurately record and report class attendance.
• Be responsible for recording work hours/classes taught.
• Meet with program coordinator on a regular basis.
• Be evaluated by program coordinator annually.
