About The Position

The Exercise and Long Range Planner provides a diverse set of tasks for the unit, detachments, and operating locations. Responsible for planning, coordinating, and integrating squadron personnel and equipment into special operations training, exercise, and operational events. This position requires knowledge of both manned airborne ISR and SOF operations.

Requirements

  • 4+ years’ related work experience
  • Recent AFSOC experience within last 7 years
  • Knowledge of integrating manned airborne ISR capabilities into special operations training, exercise, and operational events
  • Must have good communications and writing skills
  • Familiarity with scheduling and working on military training areas and ranges
  • Familiarity with military command and control structures
  • Knowledge of the organizational interface of military, federal, state, and local agencies
  • Active TS/SCI government security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Plans, coordinates, and mobilizes Squadron personnel and equipment for special operations training, exercise, and operational events
  • Manages unit’s exercise event schedule, to include submittal of personnel information to external planners for logistics and funding
  • Creates and submits off-station equipment requests, coordinate manning assignments and documentation for local and TDY exercises
  • Assists the Squadron Tactics, Training and Scheduling offices with exercise related issues, and maintains short- and long-term statistics for same-event comparisons, award and decoration data, and historical reference
  • Supports Squadron with post-exercise analysis
  • Advises tactics, training and operations leadership on potential exercise opportunities for advanced TTP training with evolving equipment and technology
  • Liaises with AF and sister-service components; participates in joint planning and synchronization meetings; incorporates manned airborne ISR training objectives into full mission profile events and joint exercises
  • Occasionally travels to off-station planning events
  • Develops and fosters squadron relationships with key customers
  • Required to obtain LOGMOD/ equivalent access within six months
  • Possesses proficient understanding of applicable manned airborne ISR and AFSOC aircraft TTPs
  • Utilizes TTP knowledge to develop Desired Learning Objectives (DLOs)/Training Objectives (TOs)
  • Utilizes TTP knowledge and/or experience to educate joint partners on unit ISR capabilities
  • Adheres to Joint Publications, DoD and Air Force Instructions
  • Maintains multi-level system access for NIPRNet, SIPRNet, JIANT and NSANet accounts to perform required duties
  • Supports the client with other related needs as requested
