About The Position

The Executive Team Leader Specialty Sales (Assistant Manager Merchandising and Service) at Target is responsible for driving total store sales and creating a guest-obsessed culture. This role involves managing a team of specialized consultants in Apparel & Accessories, Beauty, and Electronics, ensuring that product is available and easy to shop. The position requires knowledge of retail business fundamentals, including department sales trends, inventory management, and guest shopping patterns. The Executive Team Leader will also be responsible for creating schedules, managing merchandising and pricing workload, and developing a sales force that is knowledgeable and passionate about the products. The role includes various responsibilities such as leading team onboarding, establishing a culture of accountability, and ensuring compliance with safety and ethical standards.

Requirements

  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Drive total store sales and understand the role in sales growth.
  • Create a guest-obsessed culture and lead the team to prioritize guest experience.
  • Create schedules and adjust as needed to align with guest traffic and business needs.
  • Manage the team to effectively plan merchandising and pricing workload.
  • Know and assess the competition and leverage guest insights.
  • Build a team of knowledgeable consultants in Apparel and Accessories, Beauty, and Electronics.
  • Lead backroom processes, organization, layout, and replenishment of the sales floor.
  • Ensure fitting rooms are welcoming and used as an extension of the sales floor.
  • Anticipate staffing needs and recruit talent.
  • Develop and coach the team and Team Leaders.
  • Establish a culture of accountability through clear expectations.
  • Address store needs such as emergencies and regulatory visits.
