The job of General Merchandise and Food Sales team s is to lead inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise ( GM ) areas of the store. This team leads inventory accuracy, merchandise set-up and maintenance , and pricing processes for all areas of the store. This team leads Food & Beverage and Food Service, p roviding a fresh and food safe experience. Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by owning pick, p ack and ship fulfillment work. The role of a General Merchandise & Food Sales Executive Team Leader can provide you with the skills and experience of : G uest service fundamentals and experience building and managing a guest first culture on your team R etail business fundamentals including : department sales trends, inventory management, freshness and quality, guest shopping patterns, pricing and promotions strategies S etting and planning department(s) monthly/quarterly workload to support business priorities and managing a team to deliver on sales goals Knowledge of the competition; leveraging insights to drive business objectives M anaging team leaders and creating business specific strategies and goals R ecruiting, selecting and talent management of hourly team members and leaders

Requirements

  • 4-year degree or equivalent experience

  • Climb up and down ladders as needed
  • Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays); reliable and pro mpt attendance necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a team that executes tasks such as receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise, and putting up promotional signs for all areas of the store.
  • Drive total store sales, demonstrate how you, your team and your departments contribute to and impact total store profitability .
  • Model creating a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you and your team are completing your daily tasks .
  • Demonstrate how to engage with guests when assistance is needed and engage with guests in a welcoming way to help solve their specific needs .

  • Plan, manage, assess and validate best practices to determine operational opportunities .
  • Manage F ood & B everage business , food services (if applicable), and alcohol sales .
  • Enable efficient delivery to our guests by leading pick, pack and ship fulfillment work (if applicable) efficiently and accurately to deliver on each guest promise time .
  • Develop a strategy and utilize your workload planning tools to complete all scheduled workload ensuring you are guest ready at all times .
  • Conduct regular check-ins with your team to guide appropriate completion of tasks and workload given resources and priorities .
  • Create a scheduling plan with information based on monthly and weekly business workload and guest traffic patterns .
  • Oversee all GM backroom and sales floor areas, review all reporting to identify gaps and develop a plan to resolve including completion validation .
  • Enable efficient delivery to our guests by leading pick, pack and ship fulfillment work (if applicable) efficiently and accurately to deliv er on each guest promise time .
  • Drive a culture centered in food safety; train, validate and coach team to deliver proper execution on all food safety standards and cleaning routines .
  • Lead an efficient operation to fund the sales culture .
  • Lead the understanding of how operational procedures, like merchandise set-up , product capacities and salesfloor quantities impact shortage, pr ofitability, instore replenishment, inventory and pricing accuracy including adherence to regulatory compliance .
  • Lead prioritization and conduct regular check-ins with your team to guide appropriate completion of tasks an d workload given resources and priorities .
  • Create , lead , and model a culture of executing all best practices as outlined with team onboarding , learning , and required training ; help close skill gaps through development, coaching and team interactions .
  • Know and assess the competition; leverage guest insights and feedback to drive the business and be the destination of choice for our guests .
  • Work a schedule that aligns to guest and business needs (this includes early morning, evening, overnight shifts and weekends) .
  • Manage a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is in stock, fresh, available, food safe, and accurately priced and signed on the sales floor with minimal disruption to the guest .
  • Assess all GM and Food & Beverage backroom and sales floor areas, walk Food & Beverage Standards to assess priorities in food and review GM/Food reporting to identify gaps and develop a plan to resolve .
  • Anticipate short-term and long-term staffing needs and manage talent planning and recruitment .
  • Establish and maintain a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management .
  • Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches, being authentic and respectful, and creating equitable experiences .
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct and compliance; lead team to work in the same way and hold others accountable to this commitment .
  • Develop and lead the safety culture and performance of the department through modeling and recognizing safe behaviors, identifying and correcting hazards, holding team accountable to following safety expectations, assisting with incident response, and reporting/investigating injuries timely and accurately.
  • Lead an instore security culture by focusing on deterrence, response and resolution in order to improve physical security processes .
  • Lead merchandise protection strategies across the total store; including ordering, storage and application as directed by best practices .
