About the position

The General Merchandise & Food Sales Executive Team Leader at Target is responsible for managing operations, ensuring product availability, and leading a team to deliver exceptional guest experiences. This role involves overseeing various processes related to inventory management, sales growth, and food safety, while fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork. The position requires a strong focus on guest service and operational efficiency, with the goal of driving store profitability and maintaining high standards across all General Merchandise areas.

Responsibilities

  • Drive total store sales and understand the role in sales growth.
  • Manage Food & Beverage, inbound, outbound, replenishment, inventory accuracy, presentation, pricing, and promotional signing processes.
  • Lead a team of experts in operations, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Enable efficient delivery to guests by leading pick, pack, and ship fulfillment work.
  • Develop a strategy and utilize workload planning tools to complete scheduled workload.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with the team to ensure task completion.
  • Manage all GM backroom and sales floor areas, reviewing reporting to identify gaps.
  • Oversee GM Team Leaders' workload planning including transitions and sales plans.
  • Drive fulfillment sales by leading the Fulfillment team to fulfill orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Train and coach the team on food safety standards and cleaning routines.
  • Create a guest-obsessed culture that prioritizes the guest experience.
  • Assess competition and leverage guest insights to drive business objectives.
  • Work a flexible schedule that aligns with guest and business needs.
  • Plan and lead organizational and operational changes.
  • Develop and coach the team to elevate their skills and expertise.
  • Establish a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management.

Requirements

  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong interest and knowledge of the Food & Beverage business.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Ability to manage conflict and hold others accountable.
  • Ability to relate well with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong cognitive skills, including problem analysis and decision making.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to current technology needs.
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
