ALL ABOUT ASSETS PROTECTION The job of A ssets P rotection (AP) teams is to keep our guests, team and brand secure and lead through crisis events. They protect profitable sales by mitigating shortage risks, preventing, theft and fraud to ensure product is available for our guest . They also b uild relationships inside and outside of Target including store leaders and public safety officials, inclusive of law enforcement. The role of Executive Team Leader - Assets Protection can provide you with the skills and experience of : C reating and managing a s ecurity culture, including crisis response, a strong safety environment and crowd - management planning and providing support to both guests and team members Lead ing strategic AP goals and strategies and delivering results through your team I dentifying and developing strategic resolutions of external theft and fraud and apprehending individuals attempting to cause a loss consistent with Target policy Planning and conducting internal and external investigations , from identification through resolution R ecruiting, selecting , retaining , development and talent management of hourly team members and leaders As Executive Team Leader - Assets Protection , no two days are ever the same, but a typical day most likely will include the following responsibilities:

Requirements

• 4 - year degree or equivalent experience
• M eet any state or local licensure and/or other legal require ments for the position
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays); reliable and prompt attendance necessary.

Responsibilities

• Establish, m anage , influence and validate a secur ity culture by driving and improving physical security processes.
• L ead store response to emergency and crisis situations and develop security plans for in-store events .
• Educate store leaders and teams on emergency preparedness and phy sical security procedures .
• Identify shortage risks in key areas and develop strateg ies and tactics to reduce shor tage and drive profitable sales .
• Drive total store sales and increase profitability by ensuring product is in stock and available to our guests .
• Guide AP team leaders in your district/mar ket on strategies to execute company initiatives .
• Plan and l ead investigative and verbal de- escalation trainings as needed ; identify , plan and f acilitate other trainings as needed for your AP team, store or district .
• Maintain all required training for you and your team .
• Manage identification and resolution of internal investigations including conducting internal interviews for your store and nearby stores in partnership with your leader .
• Anticipate and identify theft and shortage trends in your store and develop proactive strategies to prevent shortage and theft .
• Support store team in determining operational shortage priorities for store ; educate and influence s tore teams on these priorities .
• Manage prevention (inclusive of me rchandise protection budgeting ) , identification and resolution of external theft inc idents and investigations .
• Work a schedule that aligns to guest and business needs , based on security and theft patterns (this includes early morning/overnight shifts, evening and weekends) .
• Build partnerships t hat allow you to identify market trends and competition strategies .
• Build a relationship of trust and accountability with your leader and Store Director in order to appropriately advocate for AP priorities and initiatives.
• Develop , schedule and deploy resources based on analysis of security and theft trends in your unique location .
• Plan, lead and follow up on organi zational and operational change s .
• Establish and maintain a culture of accountability through clear expectations and performance management .
• Anticipate short-term and long-term staffing and scheduling ne e ds .
• M anage talent plan ning , rec ruit ment and AP payroll utilization .
• Support the onboarding and development of AP T eam L eaders in your district/market .
• Develop , coach and lead your team members and Team Leaders (if applicable) to elevate the ir skills and expertise .
• Educate store leadership on merch andise pro tection best practice and audit execution in partnership with ke y partners .
• C reate, c ommunicate, influence and educate AP priorities (including shortage priorities) to your team, peers and store teams .
• Develop and lead store safety culture and performance of the department through modeling and recognizing safe behaviors, identifying and correcting hazards in partnership with store leaders, holding the team accountable to following safety expectations, assisting with incident response , and reporting/ investigating injuries timely and accurately.
• Lead and direct safety program management routines such as Monthly Safety Meetings/Observations.
• Order merchandise protection devices as needed to support the minimum standards for your store.
• Review and manage the allocated budget and adhere to the guidance in the Merchandise Protection Best Practice on Workbench.
• As needed, a ct as first responder for in-store safety i ncidents (e.g., security, weather, etc.) .
• Create and lead a culture of executing all best practices as outlined with team onboarding and learning; help close skill gaps through development, coaching and team interactions .
• Train your team to p rovide service and a shopping experience th at meets the needs of the guest .
• Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches, being authentic and respectful, and creating equitable experiences .
• As a key c arrier, exercise good judgment and implement all security training and processes .
• Build and maintain relationships inside and outside Target, including district and store leaders and law enforcement .
• Ensure our teams and tactics ma inta in Targe t’s reputation .
• C ollaborate with retail organization partners to analyze industry trends and enhance security for g uests and team members .
• Participate in legal proceedings as necessary to represent Target’s interests.
• Model creating a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you & your team are completing your daily tasks.
• Demonstrate how to engage with guests when assistance is needed, engage with guests in a welcoming way, and help solve their specific needs.
• Lead by thanking guests and let them know we’re happy they chose to shop at Target.
• Address ing all store emergencies and compliance needs
