About The Position

As Executive Sous Chef supporting the Wine Bar at LACMA, you will play a key leadership role in daily culinary execution while flexing across the broader campus as needed. This position is focused on hands on kitchen leadership, service support, and consistency, ensuring food is executed accurately, safely, and on pace in a high visibility environment. You will partner closely with the Executive Chef and culinary leadership team to support service, events, and cross outlet needs across the complex. This is an ideal role for a strong operator who enjoys being on the floor and in the kitchen, supporting teams during service, and stepping in where needed to keep operations running smoothly.

Requirements

  • Experience as an Executive Sous Chef or senior sous chef in a restaurant, cultural institution, hotel, or multi outlet environment
  • Strong service execution skills with the ability to support multiple concepts
  • Comfortable stepping into different kitchens and service styles as needed
  • Proven ability to lead teams during busy service periods
  • Solid understanding of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen organization
  • Collaborative, adaptable leadership style
  • Ability to communicate clearly with culinary and operations partners
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience

Responsibilities

  • Support daily culinary execution for the Wine Bar, ensuring consistency, timing, and quality
  • Provide coverage and operational support across other outlets as needed, including events and catering
  • Lead kitchen teams during service with a calm, hands on presence
  • Execute established menus, prep standards, and production processes accurately
  • Partner with the Complex Executive Chef and culinary leadership on daily priorities and service planning
  • Support training and development of hourly culinary associates
  • Maintain food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards at all times
  • Assist with inventory awareness, prep levels, and production flow
  • Help troubleshoot service challenges and adjust in real time to support guest experience
