Job Summary The Executive Sous Chef is a key culinary leader at Lumen Field, responsible for driving operational excellence, culinary quality, and team development. This role partners closely with the Executive Chef and broader leadership team to deliver exceptional food experiences while maintaining strong financial and operational discipline. The ideal candidate is a hands-on culinary leader with a passion for hospitality, a commitment to high standards, and the ability to lead and inspire teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a culinary leadership role
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Strong understanding of kitchen operations and financial fundamentals
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Passion for hospitality, food, and guest experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities

  • Coach, mentor, and motivate culinary team members to perform at their best
  • Lead onboarding, training, and ongoing skill development for culinary staff
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to set expectations and drive event readiness
  • Manage employee breaks and staffing to support team well-being
  • Address performance concerns through timely coaching and corrective action
  • Set and uphold standards for food quality, flavor, presentation, and consistency
  • Perform daily line checks to ensure adherence to culinary standards
  • Lead game day culinary operations and execution
  • Support menu development, recipe maintenance, and menu specifications
  • Create prep sheets, line layouts, chef table setups, and menu build diagrams
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and Levy Core Signature standards
  • Oversee routine kitchen procedures including opening/closing checklists, temperature logs, cleaning schedules, waste tracking, and pest control
  • Monitor equipment maintenance and kitchen readiness
  • Support management of the culinary department budget
  • Monitor food costs, waste, and par levels to drive financial performance
  • Partner with purchasing to manage ordering, inventory, and end-of-month counts
  • Ensure accurate tracking of stock and cost controls
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and guest experience
  • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams
  • Support other Levy locations and special projects as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
