About The Position

The Executive Protection Specialist at Bristol-Myers Squibb is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of senior leadership during transportation and at various events. This role involves close protection, trip planning, and security coverage for executive offices and residences. The specialist must demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment while handling confidential information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a field relevant to corporate security or a minimum of 7 years relevant experience in law enforcement or corporate security.
  • Possess a valid concealed carry, RPO, or LEOSA firearms permit.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a safe driving record and highly technical driving skills.
  • Knowledge of executive protection techniques, planning, and strategies.
  • Ability to function and use sound judgement in high-profile situations.
  • Excellent physical condition to perform duties including running and lifting heavy objects.
  • Basic computer skills in the use of MS Office products.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in law enforcement, military, or security related fields.
  • Experience in developing event plans and assessing travel routes.
  • Ability to make critical decisions independently during stressful situations.

Responsibilities

  • Transport designated executives to and from corporate facilities, special events, airports, and specified locations.
  • Maintain excellent levels of interpersonal skills to exchange information and coordinate with senior executives and administrative assistants.
  • Identify and avoid potentially hazardous situations and provide cover for passengers.
  • Develop and implement plans for safe routes of travel and diversion opportunities.
  • Conduct pre-trip advanced security checks of venues, focusing on security risks and evacuation routes.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding corporate executives' personal and business information.
  • Handle disruptions by protestors or other persons according to policy.
  • Provide security for the executive team during large meetings and special events.
  • Provide emergency medical care including CPR, AED, and basic first aid.
  • Support CEO and leadership team travel, including on private and commercial flights.
  • Oversee the appearance and maintenance of company vehicles used for executive protection.
  • Attend defensive driver training and additional training as assigned.
  • Provide and maintain a weapon in accordance with BMS policy.
