This Executive Protection Officer role is an onsite position, requiring work at the ASC in Columbus, Ga, during a set working schedule. Requirements

  • An ability to assess, understand and mitigate threats to the company and people
  • Proven ability to apply sound judgment and use discretion when dealing with sensitive information.
  • Strong experience with: executive protection, intelligence analysis and risk assessments
  • Ability to effectively communicate security-related concepts/concerns to all levels of personnel to include Senior Management and Executives.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license, a good driving record, and adherence to all aspects of Aflac’s driving policy, including ability to be insurable by the company insurance carrier
  • Demonstrated knowledge of public/private security and protection principles and practices; relevant laws and regulations that govern the protection of information security and physical assets.
  • Knowledge of Aflac’s organizational and functional operating structure, products, administrative procedures, policy data, benefit plans, and terminology
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication (both written and oral) skills.
  • Successful completion of CPR/First Aid & AED certification every two years

  • Possess (or have the ability to obtain) an Armed Security Officer Certification in the state where your worksite is based and a license to carry a concealed handgun.
  • 4+ years of law enforcement or protective services experience needed
  • Successfully pass a background check, medical (DOT) physical endurance and agility test, psychological exam, and other assessments as required
  • Successfully pass Federal Aviation Administration background check and possess AOA aviation badge

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of the International Foundation for Protection Officers (IFPO) and Certified in Security Supervisor Management (CSSM) course
  • Former Executive Security experience

Responsibilities

  • Participates in providing protective service programs as directed for the executive and other highrisk staff and their families
  • Initiate emergency-response actions in the event of crises, emergencies or threats to designated executives and provide first responder level medical support as circumstances dictate and takes proactive measures to prevent such incidents
  • Conduct security threat assessments while reviewing the daily schedule and projected travel itinerary of the executives to identify potential security and safety related issues.
  • Ensure reconnaissance of locations on the travel itinerary for designated executives are conducted to identify potential risks and countermeasures to mitigate the risk
  • Perform logistical support for the executive’s movements by coordinating with hosts, staff, drivers and others to ensure a seamless and consistent application of protective security measures
  • Gives tips and precautions on how to prevent security-threatening situations
  • Attends specialized training in tactical driving, self-defense, certification in First Aid/CPR, defibrillator usage and first responder medicine.
  • Ability to assist with evacuations
  • Ability to help lead employees, vendors, and guests to safety in an emergency situation
  • Ability to observe, report and protect Aflac employees and assets
  • Provides other duties as assigned
