More information is available at www.crisis24.garda.com The Driver will be an integral part of the team and will spend considerable time with both the Family and other staff members. The Driver must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to comfortably interact with all members of the Family, including young children and teenagers, as well as the broader team. Demonstrated judgement, situational awareness, and problem-solving skills are also required, as well as the highest levels of discretion and confidentiality. This role must be quick-thinking, and solutions oriented. The Driver will be based in NYC with frequent travel to Long Island. Occasionally, there will be out of state travel. During the summer months the Driver can expect to spend a significant amount of time in eastern Long Island. The Driver’s regular schedule will be Wednesday to Sunday, with flexibility to adjust workdays and hours as needed. This role will be expected to work 50+ hours per week, with flexibility for longer days and late nights.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience driving for a private family, preferably with a security capacity
  • Must have prior security training or background in corporate security, law enforcement, military, or executive protection
  • Must have experience in family protection operations; focus on minor children
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • First Aid & CPR Certification
  • Experience and understanding of a dynamic, fast-paced family office
  • Strong base knowledge in all facets of protective and driver operations
  • Advanced understanding of technology-based protective applications
  • Experience with after-action report writing
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to rapidly changing schedules or environments
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication and analytical skills
  • Operate with high levels of integrity and trustworthiness
  • Ability to work nights and weekends

Nice To Haves

  • Extensive medical experience (EMT, First Responder, Paramedic, Navy Corpsman) desired

Responsibilities

  • Provide discreet executive protection and driving
  • Develop alternate and tertiary vehicle routes and conduct route analysis to ensure client safety and security.
  • Operate motor vehicles in a safe and legal manner.
  • Maintain vehicle record, maintenance logs, and daily activity reports.
  • Safeguard and maintain highly sensitive and confidential information.
  • Conduct protective advance operations (routes selection, venue advance, surveillance detection, etc.).
  • Working with the Family Office’s external security advisor, maintain global situational awareness of potential and developing risks potentially impacting executive staff and prepare related intelligence briefings.
  • Work independently and to adapt to various work-paces while always maintaining a high-level of attentiveness and energy.
  • Work within a cross-functional family office team, occasionally performing other services and errands as required.
  • May be asked to provide security presence for events and on other occasions
  • Operate with professionalism, courtesy, and integrity in all interactions
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance
  • Domestic/International travel may be required; the candidate should be prepared to work predominantly in eastern Long Island during summer months.
