About The Position

The Executive Protection Specialist will deliver strategic security operations to high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and corporate clients in Northern California. This is a part-time position. Days and hours of work will vary—potential for additional hours on occasion.

Requirements

  • California requires a BSIS Security Guard Registration (Guard Card)
  • For armed positions, must be current or retired law enforcement, or possess a Concealed Weapon Permit, and must have a BSIS Permit for Exposed Firearm (Gun Card)
  • This position requires variable travel

Nice To Haves

  • Previous extensive executive Protection and/or relevant Law Enforcement or Military training and experience preferred
  • First-aid, CPR, and/or combat medical training and experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct advance work to identify threats and vulnerabilities at venues and along travel routes.
  • Provide close protection to principals in dynamic environments (home, work, public, and travel).
  • Escort and secure principals during domestic and international travel.
  • Maintain situational awareness and adjust tactics in real time to changing threat landscapes.
  • Conduct threat and vulnerability assessments on individuals, locations, and events.
  • Monitor open-source intelligence and security feeds for potential threats.
  • Liaise with law enforcement and local security services when appropriate.
  • Maintain a professional, discreet, and service-oriented demeanor with principals and stakeholders.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, balancing security needs with client lifestyle preferences.
  • Be prepared to provide briefings and regular updates to clients and their representatives.
  • Assist in coordinating secure transportation logistics, including route selection and contingency planning.
  • Ensure safe and secure movement through airports, hotels, and event locations.
  • When asked, oversee residential security operations and integration with household staff and estate management.
  • Maintain physical fitness and readiness for extended or rapid deployments.
  • Maintain proficiency in defensive tactics, firearms (where applicable), medical response, and evasive driving.
  • Act as a first responder in the event of medical, security, or travel emergencies.
  • Administer CPR/first aid and coordinate with emergency services.
  • Execute evacuation or shelter-in-place protocols as needed.
  • Maintain incident logs, trip reports, and expense documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and corporate policies (e.g., use of force, privacy).
  • Safeguard confidentiality and protect the client
