About The Position

Farm Journal maps the present and future of farming, food, technology and sustainability through the lens of 23 brands committed to every major agriculture and food production segment. Our brands generate 20 million monthly interactions across digital, video, radio and print sources. Farmers, ranchers, growers, packers, shippers and the industries that support them rely on Farm Journal’s brands to profitably grow their businesses. Its exclusive research and data insights are so powerful that it earned Farm Journal recognition as one of the most innovative companies in the country, according to Fast Company business magazine. Video storytelling is a point of pride at Farm Journal and we continue to expand. We have three nationally syndicated news programs – AgDay, U.S. Farm Report and Machinery Pete TV – that set the agenda for financial, political, current events and machinery issues in agriculture. Our podcast network now includes more than 10 unique programs, all recorded for audio and video distribution. This network includes AgriTalk, which delivers two hours of agribusiness and markets news daily distributed on every major podcast platform and radio stations across the country. Last year, Farm Journal launched two new video platforms: a subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service, Farm Journal TV, and a free ad-supported television (FAST) channel, Farm Journal NOW. At the same time, our YouTube channel and social media platforms have seen explosive growth. Farm Journal seeks an executive producer for news to build video shows and content that please everyone from traditional TV watchers to the YouTube generation. The executive producer will be responsible for the team that builds our news programs, executes our streaming strategy and creates our podcasts and some certain social videos. We’re looking for someone who is resourceful and can bring high standards for writing, production value and visual presentation. The position is a chance to have national impact in one of America’s most important industries, while also having a work-life balance most executive producer roles do not have. Most weeks are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays with periodic travel on high-impact weeks. What’s more, you’ll join a mission- and purpose-driven company with a great culture. Our focus is on how well we support the audiences we serve and have an impact on their professional lives. This position is based in Kansas City, Missouri.
