About The Position

We're looking for a sharp, dependable, and highly organized House Manager to support a principal whose life blends international responsibilities, strategic decision-making, and a strong focus on family. This role is a key leadership position within a fast-paced, multifaceted household. Well-suited for someone who thrives in high-demand environments, approaches their work with both professionalism and warmth, and is excited by the opportunity to grow and evolve the role over time. The ideal candidate will bring a balance of structure and flexibility, managing day-to-day operations with precision while adapting seamlessly to shifting priorities. This is not just a support role. It is a central position that helps create stability, efficiency, and peace of mind in a complex and constantly moving environment. This position is at the heart of the principal’s daily life, serving as the central link between household operations, business activities, travel planning, and a global network of contacts. The House Manager will be primarily based at the principal’s residence in Fairfax, VA, with occasional work at an office in Washington, DC. Success in this role requires a service-first attitude, sharp problem-solving skills, and the flexibility to take on a wide range of responsibilities. Whether that means coordinating logistics or stepping in to handle personal, family, or household tasks as needed. The right candidate brings a composed, thoughtful presence and a natural ability to bring structure to busy or fast-changing environments. They should be comfortable working closely with family, managing staff and vendors, and maintaining strong professional relationships. This is a comprehensive support role that touches all areas of the principal’s life. From managing the home and overseeing personal schedules to organizing travel, preparing communications, and acting as a reliable, trusted partner every step of the way. The principal is a globally involved advisor and board member with a demanding travel schedule, often spending extended periods abroad. The House Manager will work in close partnership with the principal’s sister, who oversees both personal and professional affairs, and acts as the primary point of coordination between the principal, family members, and internal teams for scheduling and project execution. Regular communication with a UK-based assistant, household vendors, and additional staff supporting relatives will be part of the day-to-day rhythm. Strong collaboration skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to anticipate needs are essential in this role. This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants to take ownership of their role, contribute meaningfully, and grow with the family over time—particularly during moments of transition or change, where hands-on, thoughtful support can make the greatest impact.

Requirements

  • Proven experience supporting senior executives, entrepreneurs, or public figures in either personal or executive assistant roles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of composing messages that reflect the principal’s tone and style
  • Highly organized with a keen eye for detail, able to maintain accuracy and calm even in fast-paced situations
  • Skilled at juggling multiple communication channels across both personal and professional contexts
  • Comfortable and proficient with technology platforms such as Apple Calendar, Google Workspace, and Outlook
  • Dependable, discreet, and adaptable to the dynamics of a family-oriented household
  • Holds a valid driver’s license and has access to a personal vehicle (vehicle stipend provided)
  • Open to occasional travel when required, with sufficient advance notice

Responsibilities

  • Manage a dynamic, multi-time zone calendar that includes business meetings, personal appointments, family routines, and travel coordination
  • Organize and support international and domestic travel: oversee itineraries, packing preparation, hotel and activity planning, and ensure essentials like clothing and medications are accounted for across trips
  • Conduct regular check-ins (morning and/or afternoon) to align on daily priorities, upcoming commitments, and evolving needs
  • Support the principal in advance of meetings or social events with briefing notes, background research, and logistical details
  • Maintain comprehensive inventories of household and personal items, including wardrobe, supplies, tech, office tools, and storage
  • Streamline systems to ensure consistency and reduce duplication between primary residence and travel setups
  • Handle mail intake, package management, and basic administrative tasks such as bill coordination and document filing
  • Lead communication and coordination with household vendors and service providers. Including scheduling, oversight, and performance management
  • Supervise housekeeping services, including sourcing replacements when needed or providing interim coverage during staffing gaps
  • Act as the primary liaison for all household services (e.g., maintenance, cleaners, event support), ensuring standards are consistently upheld
  • Act as a trusted point of contact between the principal and her family, friends, and close circle
  • Assist with planning and executing family-focused gatherings, such as dinners, celebrations, or holidays
  • Provide structure and a sense of continuity in the home when the principal is traveling or away for extended periods
  • Maintain frequent and clear communication to ensure alignment across all family routines and responsibilities
  • Collaborate with staff supporting immediate family members to ensure seamless coordination and shared priorities
  • Draft, edit, and manage personal and professional correspondence on behalf of the principal, ensuring tone and voice alignment at all times
  • Monitor and manage multiple email accounts (including Gmail and Outlook), prioritizing, flagging, and handling communication as appropriate
  • Keep digital files, contact lists, and notes well-organized, updated, and easily accessible
  • Assist with light project management for a range of initiatives, both personal and business-related
  • Stay one step ahead. Anticipating needs and offering solutions before they’re requested

  • Performance-based bonus eligibility
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) participation
  • Discretionary travel and special project opportunities as needed
