About The Position

Re ports to: Director of Sales Do you love the thrill of closing a deal ? Are you passionate about selling Washington, DC as a destination for small group meetings ? As an Executive Meetings Manager on DDC's Convention Sales team, no two days are alike . One day you could be hosting planners on a site inspection of DC's boutique hotels and unique small meeting venues . The next, you are on a sales mission in Chicago or Los Angeles, connecting face-to-face with association executives and corporate meeting planners who could bring their next small meeting to the nation's capital. This role focuses on small meetings, self-contained events typically under 100 roo ms on peak . You will manage the assigned territory covering the West Coast and Midwest and serve as the connector between meeting planners and the right DC hotel partners . Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years' of experience in destination or hospitality sales , or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S) from four -year college or university in management, sales, marketing, or related field preferred .
  • Proven ability to prospect, build relationships, and drive results in a sales environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage a high-volume account portfolio.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with CRM software.
  • Willingness and ability to travel and work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect, qualify, and respond to incoming leads and inquiries for smaller meetings within an assigned territory covering the West Coast and Midwest, connecting planners with DDC's hotel partners throughout the DC metropolitan area.
  • Travel to assigned territory to conduct in-market sales calls, participate in sales missions, and attend industry events to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Plan and execute client-site inspections and destination showcases that bring Washington, DC, to life for meeting planners.
  • Build and maintain client relationships through personalized outreach, local industry chapter meetings and on-site visits during their meetings in DC.
  • Stay current on DC's hotels, venues, neighborhoods, and destination assets, as well as broader industry trends and competitive intelligence.
  • Collaborate with the Convention Sales and Services team to support a seamless planner experience.
