About The Position

The Executive Meeting Manager at DoubleTree San Diego Del Mar is responsible for driving top-line catering revenue by maximizing profitability through effective upselling and management of small meetings and events. This role involves coordinating with various hotel departments to ensure customer satisfaction and operational efficiency while actively seeking new business opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Marketing or related field.
• Minimum 2 years catering sales, or 2 years in hotel Catering/Convention Services, Banquet, Hotel Sales or Culinary Arts; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Handle and follow up on inquiries for small meetings/events with or without guestrooms.
• Qualify customer needs and dates for events to determine fit for the property.
• Negotiate contracts and banquet event orders (BEO).
• Identify and price customer needs for events, upselling where possible, and closing sales with customers.
• Collect customer deposits and signatures on BEOs.
• Communicate group details/changes to all hotel departments, coordinating customer needs with property business and activities.
• Present potential business at daily business review meetings to determine the best mix of customers for hotel revenue.
• Conduct meetings with clients and hotel staff to ensure events meet client expectations.
• Finalize and detail catering plans for groups contracted by assigned sales manager.
• Prospect for new group and catering business using various methods including phone calls, trade shows, and community functions.
• Monitor blocked space to ensure groups meet contractual obligations and release blocked space on cut-off dates.
