  • Fosters a culture of performance improvement and coordinates the systematic implementation of best practices designed to reduce errors and improve patient outcomes.
  • Plans, directs, and manages the activities of the Infection Prevention department.
  • Works closely with designated medical staff and hospital administration, hospital departments, and committees to carry out all functions incorporated into the infection prevention and control program.
  • Involved in system-wide performance improvement activities and accountable for fulfilling requirements from accrediting and regulatory agencies.
  • Has the authority to issue a 'stop work order' to cease the use of equipment, conduct, specific clinical practices, or limit the activities of specific healthcare workers until resolution of concerns is adequately reached.
  • Actively participates in outstanding customer service and maintains respectful relationships.
  • Supervises and provides coverage over resident activities in the Allopathic Internal Medicine Residency program.
  • Current, valid State of Florida license as a medical doctor.
  • 5-7 years Leadership Experience.
  • Graduate of allopathic or osteopathic medicine program.
  • Experience as Internal Medicine physician.
  • At least five years of experience in a healthcare environment, particularly Infection Prevention, including recent experience in a leadership role.
