  • Foster a culture of performance improvement in the Infection Prevention Department.
  • Coordinate the systematic implementation of best practices designed to reduce errors and improve patient outcomes.
  • Plan, direct, and manage the activities of the Infection Prevention department.
  • Work closely with designated medical staff and hospital administration to carry out all functions of the infection prevention and control program.
  • Participate in system-wide performance improvement activities and fulfill requirements from accrediting and regulatory agencies.
  • Issue a 'stop work order' to cease the use of equipment or limit activities of healthcare workers if patient safety is compromised.
  • Provide appropriate and timely reports to medical staff, hospital administration, and related committees regarding the Infection Control program.
  • Serve as a resident expert for leadership, medical staff, and hospital staff in Infection Control activities.
  • Supervise and provide coverage over resident activities in the Allopathic Internal Medicine Residency program.
  • Current, valid State of Florida license as a medical doctor
  • 5+ years of experience in a healthcare environment, particularly in Infection Prevention
  • 5-7 years of Leadership Experience
  • Graduate of allopathic or osteopathic medicine program
  • Experience as an Internal Medicine physician
