Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three (3) years progressive housekeeping and laundry experience, preferably in a luxury setting.
  • Must work a flexible schedule to include weekends, early mornings, late evenings and holidays.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • An enthusiastic, positive demeanor and desire to provide exceptional guest service.
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Work on your feet for eight or more (8+) hours.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to reach, push, pull, bend and stoop for a period of eight or more (8+) hours

Responsibilities

  • A hands-on leader that is eager to work on the line with their team.
  • Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the resort to include primary team member break room.
  • Oversees daily housekeeping and laundry operations to ensure cleanliness standards are consistently met throughout our 85-room luxury hotel property.
  • Manage, train, schedule and supervise housekeeping and laundry staff, including room attendants, inspectors (supervisors), public area teams (custodian’s) and laundry attendants.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public spaces and back-of-house areas to ensure quality, safety and brand standards.
  • Develop and manage housekeeping department labor schedules to align with occupancy and business levels.
  • Control departmental budgets, including labor costs, supplies, linens and equipment.
  • Order, track and manage inventory of cleaning supplies, amenities, uniforms and linens.
  • Effective management of room inspection program.
  • Establish and enforce cleaning procedures, safety protocols and sanitation standards.
  • Coordinate with Maintenance, Front Office departments to ensure housekeeping and laundry teams focus on efficient room turnaround and guest satisfaction.
  • Handle guest complaints related to cleanliness or housekeeping service and ensure prompt resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and OSHA regulations.
  • Manage laundry operations, including linen control, quality and par levels management of three to four (3-4).
  • Recruit, onboard and conduct performance evaluations for housekeeping and laundry staff.
  • Implement training programs to improve efficiency, service quality and staff development.
  • Monitor productivity and recommend process improvements or cost-saving initiatives.
  • Prepare reports related to staffing, room status, expenses and quality inspections.
  • Implements guidelines, policies, and procedures for their operating departments.
  • Guides operations and establish a work environment to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Manages performance issues that arise within the respective operating departments.
  • Is an integral part of the room’s leadership team, attends all scheduled meetings and contributes actively with proper preparation.
  • Interviews, selects, trains, reviews, coaches, counsels and disciplines departmental employees/supervisors according to company standards.
  • Effectively communicates verbally and in writing with team members.
  • Conducts a daily briefing with team members on current company wide and department specific incentives and activities.
  • Evaluate changes in guest needs to recommend appropriate product/service and operational changes as necessary.
  • Anticipate and address guest issues and establish proactive processes to promote guest satisfaction.
  • Be an inspiration to all hotel staff to achieve luxury levels of performance.
  • Interacts in a positive way with other departments to ensure a luxury guest experience.
  • Must be a leader of The Allison standards and a champion of grooming and appearance guidelines.
